In this work, a micro-controlled system has been developed to be capable of monitoring a plants humidity. It will water the plant by utilizing a micro water pump. This is activated by the system when data collected by a humidity sensor, inserted in the earth where the plant is located, achieves a certain threshold. The system is also able to collect ambient temperature, informing the user of this. A growth LED can be turned on by the system when there is not enough light for the plant or in a user designated time frame. Most people that cultivate plants indoor find it difficult to keep them alive, be it because they do not have the time or experience. This systems purpose is to help the user in taking care of their plants. All code was developed using Keil Uvision 5, in C programming language. Tests were done using two plants, one considered of high maintenance and the other considered of low maintenance by the system. After the conclusion of the tests, the prototype was considered capable of taking care of a diversity of plants. However, for better market absorption, its current price needs to be reduced. |
