The work aimed to demonstrate the improvements and savings obtained with the building retrofit focusing on energy efficiency. The qualitative and quantitative study was developed in a corporate building in downtown Curitiba-PR, with an energy diagnosis and demonstration of the methodology used to calculate payback and the cost-benefit ratio of the project. Initially there was the study and description of the main components that were modified with the retrofit and also the study of electricity bills according to the diagnosed period. The results of the work demonstrate the effectiveness in energy management with more efficient equipment in the operating costs of a commercial building, saving 45% in electricity consumption and reducing demand measured by 32%. The payback for the full project was 16 years and 4 months and the internal rate of return was 17.2%. |
