Women's participation in the workplace has grown significantly in recent decades. However, the difference in positions and salary, double shifts, moral and sexual harassment are some factors that have caused damage to women's health. Aiming at this, this research is interested in the theme of gender division within the financial system, and how it can influence the appearance of Burnout syndrome. Thus, the objective of the study was to analyze whether, being a woman, in the work environment of the financial system during the COVID-19 pandemic, constitutes a source of stress to the point of leading female workers to Burnout syndrome. To meet the research objective, a socioeconomic and personal and professional profile questionnaire, Burnout syndrome and questions related to experienced situations were applied. The questionnaire was sent to financial institutions in the city of Francisco Beltrão, PR, reaching 15 women, however, being answered by eight of them. For the first point raised, we can observe that all respondents to the questionnaire had Burnout syndrome in the three dimensions (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal fulfillment). It is emphasized that the sum of the results of the dimensions was high compared to the metric presented, emphasizing that these women have a higher level of Burnout than physicians (sample studied by the article used as a metric reference). In the second investigated, three questions were asked regarding possible situations experienced in the workplace, or during the career. Due to the fact that they are women, they all claim that they have already felt undervalued; already faced difficulties to get job openings; face the wage gap; and the lack of opportunities and promotions. All these highlighted factors make being a woman an overload for the corporate world, which makes your career much more difficult compared to men. Viewing the evidence from both fields studied (gender and Burnout syndrome), we affirm that through the Burnout Index of the women interviewed and the statements and reports about situations experienced in the workplace because they are women, that gender is a source of syndrome of Burnout |
