Resumo: With wide application in coatings area, the mechanized thermal spray process has been obtained, through the development of research in various fields of engineering, focusing on utilize the disciplines concepts developed in the course of Mechanical Engineering at the Federal Technological University of Paraná - Campus Cornélio Procópio. This study aims to mechanize the movement necessary to perform the thermal spray process, using resources available at the university and getting a lowcost device when compared with the method most currently used, the use of industrial mechanical arms. The development of the design has performed a structure similar to a crane using pneumatic cylinder-piston to make the jetting applying at uniform and flat surfaces. An estimated cost about R$ 4,500,00 the manufacturing and with a low cost machine operator and with easy maintenance.
