Resumo: The difficulty which is currently in obtaining fuel and mainly used in engines operating in the Otto cycle, therefore we need to get the best possible performance of these types of engines. This work aimed to analyze how much increase the yield of motor Otto cycle, operating on ethanol, gasoline and CNG, analyzing engines fitted in some domestic vehicles, both powered with electronic fuel injection and with carburetors. The study was conducted in an independent own machine shop, and the cars were subjected to for a fuel consumption test before and after work. The compression ratio of both engines operating on gasoline type C, CNG and ethanol was increased, the compression ratio varied from 8.8: 1 to 10.6: 1 in the gas 10: 1 to 14.0: 1 in ethanol and GNV.Os results showed that with the increase in compression ratio significantly decreases consumption of engines, but they had more improved performance are those using ethanol and ethanol and CNG .Thus concluded that with increasing compression ratio increases the yield of the internal combustion engine, proving it by reducing fuel consumption.
