Resumo: The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the losses generated by interference and the critical level of damage of voluntary soybean plants sown on the day and 7 days after sowing of two common bean cultivars. The experiment was carried out in the Experimental Area of the Federal Technological University of Paraná, Campus Pato Branco, from January to May 2019, in DBC, with subdivided plots and four replications. The bean cultivars IAC Imperador and IAC Milênio were allocated in the main plots, in the subplots, two soybean sowing times (at the time of bean sowing and seven days after bean sowing) and in the subsubplots were allocated five plant densities of soybean (0, 5, 10, 20 and 40 plants m2). Soybean sowing was done manually. The following were determined: (a) at stages V4 and R5 – plant height, leaf area and shoot dry mass, in samples of five plants from the useful area, randomly defined at the time of collection; (b) in physiological maturation – plant height, height of insertion of the first pod and the components of the yield number of pods per plant, number of grains per pod and mass of one thousand grains, in 10 plants of the useful area. Crop yield and stand was determined by harvesting bean plants in a useful area of 6,75 m2 in each experimental unit. Data were subjected to analysis of variance (p ≤ 0,05) using the R language. When significant, qualitative data were compared by Tukey's test (p ≤ 0.05), while quantitative data using linear polynomial, three-parameter logistic and of rectangular hyperbola. It was concluded that the leaf area of the bean cultivars IAC Milênio and IAC Imperador decreased as the density of voluntary soybean increased, while the height of insertion of the first pod increased. The bean grain yield of the cultivars IAC Milênio and IAC Imperador was 21% lower when the voluntary soybean establishment took place on the same day as the main crop, when compared to the establishment of soybean plants after the bean. The presence of one soybean plant per m2 reduced about 4% of the grain yield of bean cultivars IAC Milênio and IAC Imperador.
