Resumo: When portraying childhood in literary works, sometimes verisimilitude is sought in elements linked to the context, to the situation in which the character(s) is (are) inserted, however the linguistic constitution of the character is also an element to be considered in order to guarantee greater reliability to the writing. In this work, the purpose is to comparatively analyze two works – one from Brazilian Literature and the other from African Literature – to observe how the authors relate neological constructions to the expression of childhood. Along the way, other texts/literary works were also sought to be contributed só that there was greater grounding.
