Resumo: The issue of dam safety has been much discussed nowadays. It is necessary to find methods to help monitoring them. For this, there are statistical tchniques of multivariate analysis that, together with monitoring techniques, aim to assess the reliability of the structure. The Joint Monitoring Index Blocks Responses (JMIBR) was obtained in this study based on the factor analysis of data from the informations collected between the years 2001 and 2019 of the safety instruments installed in the F35/36 key block of the main Itaipu dam. The main objective of this work was to understand which instruments are most correlated with modeling, and from that to identify the possible events the key block is susceptible. Finally, it was identified that the most correlated instruments were the Direct Pendulums, Elongometer Bases, Triorthogonal Gauges and Multiple Rod Extensometers, thus resulting in the events mentioned at the end of the work.
