Brazil has a range of laws aimed at environmental protection and conservation, presenting requirements for obtaining environmental licenses, conditions for reforestation of native forest, areas destined for permanent preservation, among other aspects seeking environmental safety along with socio-economic development. The environmental evaluation can be done through different methods, like matrices method, map overlay method, and others. In this work, the environmental analysis of the Contorno Noroeste of Pato Branco was carried out through the map overlay method, overlaying maps of different environmental characteristics to analyze spots of greatest risk, where it was possible to identify four main areas of impacts in the area of influence direct of the road in its extension. The results showed spots of intersection with Permanent Preservation Areas (PPA), responsible for the protection of rivers that cross the road, and places at risk of soil erosion and landslides. Thereby, it was concluded that the implementation of the section will cause negative environmental impacts in physical and biotic environment, due to the great number of intersections at PPA, causing deforestation of native vegetation and exposure of rivers, and the current soil conditions, contributing to increased erosion. It was also carried out an analysis of the Simplified Environmental Reports, developed for the environmental licensing of the road using the matrix method, to analyze the impacts considered, the mitigation measures presented and perform a brief comparison between the results obtained through the two methods, where it was found that the vegetation area directly affected by the construction presented significantly different values in the two papers, due to the considerations adopted. Lastly, it was concluded that the proposed mitigation measures and reforestation of native forests must be carried out so the implementation of the highway can be offset by the positive impacts generated in the socio-economic environment. As rodovias geram grandes impactos ambientais, que podem ocorrer nos meios físico, biótico e antrópico e ocasionar diversos problemas para a natureza e para a qualidade de vida humana. O Brasil conta com uma gama de leis que visam a proteção e conservação ambiental, apresentando requisitos para a obtenção do licenciamento ambiental, condições de reflorestamento de matas nativas, áreas destinadas à preservação permanente, dentre outros aspectos visando a segurança ambiental em conjunto com o desenvolvimento socioeconômico. A avaliação ambiental pode ser realizada através de diferentes métodos, como o método das matrizes, método da superposição de cartas, entre outros. Neste trabalho foi realizada a análise ambiental do Contorno Noroeste de Pato Branco utilizando o método da superposição das cartas, superpondo mapas de características ambientais distintas para a análise dos locais de maior risco, onde foi possível identificar quatro áreas principais dentro da área de influência direta da via ao longo do trecho. Os resultados mostraram pontos de intersecção com Áreas de Preservação Permanente (APP), responsáveis pela proteção de rios que cruzam a via, e pontos com risco de erosão do solo e deslizamentos. Com isso, concluiu-se que implantação do trecho ocasionará impactos ambientais negativos nos meios físico e biótico, devido ao grande número de intersecções em APP, causando desmatamento de áreas nativas e exposição de rios, e às condições atuais do solo, contribuindo para o aumento da erosão. Também foi realizada uma análise do Relatório Ambiental Simplificado, elaborado para a obtenção de licenciamento ambiental da rodovia utilizando o método das matrizes, para analisar os impactos considerados, as medidas mitigadoras apresentadas e efetuar uma breve comparação dos resultados obtidos através dos dois modelos, onde verificou-se que a área de vegetação diretamente afetada pela implantação da obra apresentou valores significativamente diferentes nos dois trabalhos, devido às considerações adotadas.
