Currently with the advance of globalization, the number of companies in the most diverse areas increased, which consequently also increased business competitiveness. To remain in the business, companies must reach differentials to increase their performance. One way to achieve this goal is to carry out good human resources management, as the vast majority of companies encounter difficult to this activity. In order to study the behavior of companies in relation to these aspects, this work analyzes the policies and practices of people management used in the civil construction sector in the city of Pato Branco - PR. To develop this, a questionnaire was elaborated and applied to companies in the city. From the results, graphs were organized, with the answers of 22 companies, concluding that the form of HR among the companies surveyed is predominantly the traditional one.
