The Brazilian infrastructure receives less and less investments, given the scarcity of resources. Therefore, it is essential to plan and draw strategies for the allocation of these resources in order to optimize the road running quality in Brazil. A widely used tool for this planning is the Pavement Management System (PMS), contributing to the stages of collection, analysis and application of data aimed at carrying out Maintenance and Rehabilitation (M&R) activities. In this context, this work presents an overview of the practice of pavement management in municipalities in the state of Paraná, aiming to guide this issue of great importance to the effective administration of public resources aimed at maintaining good pavement conditions for users. The research was based on the application of a questionnaire on the theme of pavement management to the city halls of 36 municipalities in the state of Paraná. The questionnaire was divided into four parts: i) information about the respondent and the organization they represent; ii) inventory data; iii) the existence or not of a database on the city's road network; and iv) data directly related to PMS. Among the main results obtained, it was observed that most of the municipalities, about 94% do not have an PMS, with decisions being made based on the experience of the teams responsible for planning and executing the M&R activities, being the main difficulty pointed out by respondents the lack of technical staff for the implementation of the PMS. Based on the results, some suggestions are presented for municipalities to create and improve their PMS. |
