Resumo: Insulated hand tools are equipment used in situations where work involves contact with electrical current, such as diagonal-cut pliers for use in live cables and screwdrivers for use in live circuits. Therefore, it is essential that they do not endanger the safety of the operator. Tools are rated for the maximum withstand voltage and current set by standard, limits which the manufacturer guarantees safe operation. Given the widespread use of these tools and the importance of ensuring operator integrity, this paper aims to conduct experimental laboratory tests to verify that the maximum voltage and current supported is within the specified, and to verify that uring operation there is no current leakage which could harm the operator. For this, a case study will be done, in which, consist of testing insulating tools with visual and dielectric tests, within the current standard, and determine if they are still in compliance with what is required in the standard.
