Considering the role of the designer as designer of the projects that will meet the needs of consumer society, a reflection on its role in social transformation is proposed. This work reflects on an editorial project carried out in a self-managed way with the Solidarity Economy Incubator of the UTFPR – Curitiba (TECSOL) and a group of popular educators of the Irmã Araújo Formation Center (CEFURIA) associated with the Mandala Network of Solidarity Economy. To this end, the work includes a review of the relevant themes: Graphic Design, Solidarity Economy, Popular Education and Participatory Design, with the aim of understanding the possibilities of action of the professional designer in a context of self-managed work. In this context, it is considered the transition through which the profession faces the crises of capitalism, aiming to expand the action and application of design to areas not served by capitalist markets. To explore these possibilities of expansion, it is described the experience of the participatory process that guided the creation of the editorial project of the book “Shared Management for Solidarity Economic Enterprises” in all its stages, including in collaborative writing. The work ends with considerations about the social consciousness of the designer, as well as its role in self-managed organizations. |
