Resumo: The present paper has as its subject the impact of the micro generation of electricity in the national interconnected system. Where its objective is to conduct a study analyzing the impacts of the mini and micro distributed generation in the national interconnected system of different countries, analyzing the actions that were taken is those places and comparing their background with the current situation of Brazil, to then have a clearer idea of what are the next steps to be taken in the attempt to lessen the impacts that the massive adhesion of this new modality of generation will cause in the existing system. During the course of the paper some topics are explained, these topics are essential to the understanding of the theme. It is also observed that the mini and micro distributed generation utilizes mostly the winds and the sun as its generating source and it was given a greater focus to the solar energy because it's the technology, between the two, that is growing the most at the moment. In order to conduct this comparative study two situations of two different countries were analyzed: United States and Germany and besides them the action taken by other places around the world when the main problems of the distributed generation, that are very similar in most cases, started do rise. Those actions went from technical adjustments on substations equipment to financial incentives from their respective governments. Furthermore, despite some places being ahead on the mini and micro generation subject, there are still new technologies being developed to mitigate or even eliminate all the impacts in the interconnected system. With all this information at hand it is possible to visualize the main weak points in the Brazilian system and then have a direction to what needs to be done regarding this subject in a near future.
