This paper presents the Course Completion Work which aims to study an alternative applicable to the reduction of the risk of harmonic resonance in the allocation of capacitor banks using differential evolutionary algorithm in binary space considering the restriction of total harmonic distortion of voltage and operational restrictions imposed by regulatory bodies. In this context, we sought to find almost optimal allocations for capacitor banks in distribution networks, improving the quality of electricity supplied, reducing losses, costs and improving power factor. Solutions were found that optimized the power factor and the voltage drop without impairing the Total Harmonic Distortion of Voltage and in cases with high injection of harmonic currents solutions were found that reduced the Harmonic Distortion. |
