Draws attention, in both the works, to the creation of aspects that can represent situations of human reification, in which the characters are subjected to do, subjects to perform independent actions of their control and wish. As specific objectives of this work, it was chosen: a) investigate the sociocultural context of Brasil and Portugal in the 1930s, intending to show the political and social scenario in which the writers of this decade were set; b) verify the impact of the 1930 Brazilian novel on Portuguese neorealist literary work; c) explore the reification phenomenon background knowledge, starting from the concept of Marxian fetishism and its subsequent re- elaboration by the sociologist and literary critic Georg Lukács, under the term reification; d) highlight how the art of the 20th and 21st centuries, through its several languages, made this phenomenon a constituent element of their works; e) through comparative analysis, investigate how Os Corumbas (1933), by Amando Fontes and Gaibéus (1939), by Alves Redol, present in its constitution textual elements that create images and meaning of reification. As a result, it intends to highlight the capacity of the literary art to build aesthetically strong impact narratives, given the socio-political thematic bias very dear to most writers of the time in which the works are inserted. In the analyzed novels, written in the polarized decade of 1930, the representation of the problems in the social structure, which harm and reify the “other” according to Luis Bueno, constitutive elements are made from own artistic works. Using bibliographical research method, this work has as theoretical support the studies made by Luís Bueno (2015), Maria Luiza Ritzel Remédios (1986), Carlos Reis (1981), Alexandre Pinheiro Torres (1977), Antônio José Saraiva e Lopes (s.d), Eric Hobsbawn (1995), Karl Marx (1818-1883), Georg Lukács (1885-1970), and others, that were needed here. A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo geral analisar, nos romances Os Corumbas (1933), do sergipano Amando Fontes, e Gaibéus (1939), do escritor português Alves Redol, a presença de imagens e sentidos que estabelecem relações dialógicas com o fenômeno da reificação. Chama a atenção, em ambas as obras, a criação de aspectos que dão conta de representar situações de coisificação humana, nas quais os personagens se encontram sujeitados a desempenhar ações independentes do seu controle e alheias à sua vontade. Como objetivos específicos deste trabalho elegeu-se: a) investigar o contexto sociocultural do Brasil e de Portugal na década de 1930, procurando mostrar o cenário político e social no qual os escritores da década estiveram ambientados; b) verificar o impacto do romance de 1930, brasileiro, sobre o fazer literário neorrealista português; c) explorar os fundamentos teóricos do fenômeno da reificação, partindo do conceito de fetichismo marxiano e a posterior reelaboração deste pelo sociólogo e crítico literário Georg Lukács, sob o termo reificação; d) ilustrar como a arte dos séculos XX e XXI, por meio de suas diversas linguagens, fez desse fenômeno um elemento constituinte de suas obras; e) por meio de análise comparativa, analisar de que forma Os Corumbas (1933), de Amando Fontes e Gaibéus (1939), de Alves Redol, apresentam em sua constituição elementos textuais criadores de imagens e sentidos de reificação. Como resultado, evidencia-se a capacidade de a arte literária construir esteticamente narrativas de forte impacto, atendendo ao viés temático sociopolítico, muito caro à maioria dos escritores da época em que se inserem as obras. Escritos na polarizada década de 1930, os romances analisados fazem dos problemas na estrutura social, os quais desfavorecem e coisificam o “outro”, para citar a expressão de Luis Bueno, elementos constitutivos das próprias obras artísticas.
