Resumo: It is increasingly sought by society to improve thermal comfort and well-being in the environments in which their activities are performed. That said, this paper aims to evaluate the thermal behavior of different building envelope configurations and compare them to the Brazilian standard, mainly verifying their effect on thermal comfort, formed by plaster and bricks on the vertical walls and ceramic slab on the roof. Thus, simulations were performed in a small commercial building in the cities of Curitiba and Recife for winter and summer, considering a common scenario of office activities and clothing. The application used for the simulations in this study was Domus - Eletrobrás, which is a Brazilian computational tool for thermoenergetic simulation of buildings. The results showed, through the comfort index (PMV - Predicted Mean Vote), that during the days with more critical weather conditions, the improvements were remarkable when some changes in the envelope were adopted. The concrete block configurations, proposed for the vertical walls, outperformed the Brazilian standard in almost all scenarios. In some cases, improvements of up to 35% in thermal comfort were observed when light colors were used in the paint and the roof (slab) was filled with expanded polystyrene blocks. However, the solar absorptance considered for the external finish proved to be as important as the configuration of the envelope.
