Agricultural pesticides are an important tool for maintaining the health of crops and the search for higher yields. Paraná is a leading state in agricultural production, this paper aims to demonstrate an overview of the use of herbicides, fungicides and insecticides in the state of Paraná in the years 2018, 2019 and 2020, using data from the Agricultural Defense Agency of Paraná (ADAPAR). The trend of the demand for herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides in Paraná, the agricultural crops that demanded pesticides in their production systems grouped into five groups, active ingredients grouped into their modes of action, and the ten municipalities and the mesoregions of Paraná with the highest volumes marketed were analyzed. The major crops represented more than 90% of the destination of pesticides during the three years of analysis, being the largest volumes marketed in the mesoregions West and North Central Paraná. The cities of Cascavel, Guarapuava and Tibagi were the three municipalities with the highest commercialized volumes. Herbicides were the most used, followed by fungicides and insecticides, and insecticides had the use of their active ingredients distributed in a larger number of action mechanisms compared to herbicides and fungicides. In addition to understanding the behavior of the demand for pesticides in Paraná, we seek to obtain better access to information about pesticides for the general public, to help in public policies for environmental action, and to contribute so that the use of molecules in an intelligible way generates less impact, being increasingly assertive and with less damage. |
