Resumo: The extreme events of rain, due to the Phenomenon La Niña and global warming, occupied the Brazilian news in the first months of 2022, highlighting the floods and landslides in the state of Bahia, minas gerais and Rio de Janeiro. In order to mitigate flooding and floods, also branches of urbanization and soil waterproofing, it is necessary to research, create and present solutions with regard to urban drainage. Solution and or minimization. In this case, this work evaluates the impact of a rainwater use system in the city of Ponta Grossa – pr. First, this was studied the characteristics of the local hydrological regime, quantification and characterization of the condominium areas through its implementation project. The reduction of flows was then simulated through the rational method, by analyzing the flows before and after the rainwater utilization system. With the estimates of use, the thank was dimensioned. The result of analysis, statistically mentioning, shows 41% reduction in flow flows flowed superficially was observed, as well as a 14% reduction in the value of the weighted surface flow coefficient. The effect on rain drainage varies according to the variation of the waterproof surfaces and the catchment area (roof) in relation to the total area of the condominium. A correlation was made between the influence of seasonality and precipitation with the rainwater utilization system, the quantity of rainy days is inversely proportional to the average reduction of volumes drained daily.
