Resumo: The use of water harvesting techniques has intensified the rain, since the demand increases every year from the growth of water sources and increased, due to urban centers. In this way, the use of rainwater is a way to combat the great demand, in addition to contributing to the tax benefits for urban drainage and bringing several benefits to the environmental ones. In this context, the present work carried out a case study of a commercial building in the municipality of ItararéSP which uses rainwater harvesting for the benefit of activities carried out in the establishment. A comparative analysis was carried out between the Rippl Method, Simulation Method, Avedo Neto Method, English Practical Method, German Practical Method and Australian Practical Method for the dimensioning of rainwater harvesting reservoir, comparison in the volume captured according to the methods, the actual volume captured, estimated savings and suggestions for the existing system. Based on these methods, the problem of dimensioning catchment reservoirs was analyzed for the situation where the demand is greater than the volume captured.
