Resumo: Anxiety is a feeling that makes up the life of human beings, and often takes on a preventive character, physiologically preparing the body for imminent danger. However, it can be substantial when it exceeds the functional limits and starts to influence the cognition and behavior of individuals, affecting psychological and physiological aspects. In the academic environment, the university student faces a lot ofadversities that test his abilities and, when the level of anxiety overlaps the limits accepted by mental health, it can influence the academic performance of students since the beginning of undergraduate education. Based on this, the present study aimed to collect information about the anxiety development index of students in the Forest Engineering degree course at Federal Technological University of Paraná, and thus,identity through a methodology made upof a sociodemographic questionnaire togetherwith the inventory Beck-BAI, a survey of anxiety levels by periods and also by gender classes. The results obtained in this study, showed, according to the BAI anxiety level classification, that the female gender has the highest percentage of severe anxiety level, with 12%. The second parameter evaluated was the type of housing, according to the situation of these studentsif they live alone, with family members and or if they share expenses in boarding houses or republics, so it was found that 16.22% of students who live with family membersshowsevere level of anxiety, whilst 14.29% of studentswho only studyshow this level of anxiety. With regard tothe anxiety levels by academic period, it was possible to observe that there was great variability, i.e, severe and moderate levels occur in almost all periods, there is not specifically the occurrence in only one. It can be concluded that there are levels of anxiety within the course that require attention andsomemeasures should be taken, such asrecreation, leisure, culture and environment being proposed to providegreat availability forhealth professionals.
