Resumo: Among the various native species of forestry interest, there is the laurel, a species that inhabits forest formations in different regions in Brazil. of excellent quality and fast growing. However, there is great unevenness in the behavior of plants regarding their growth and development, since they come from seeds, which demands the need for vegetative propagation. In the present study, an attempt was made to adopt an efficient management for propagation of Cordia trichotoma by mini-cutting, testing the influence of the position of the propagule of the parent plant for the production of the mini-cutting and the concentration of indole-butyric acid (IBA). The experiment was carried out at the Federal Technological University of Paraná – Campus Dois Vizinhos. The experimental design used was randomized blocks, with a 3 x 3 split-plot arrangement (AIB concentration x cutting position in the branch), with 3 replications of 20 cuttings per experimental unit. Concentrations of 0, 2000 and 4000 mg L-1 of IBA were tested. The mini-cuttings for its preparation were obtained from the basal, median and apical portions. At 60 days after the implementation of the experiment, the percentage of survival, rooting and callogenesis of mini-cuttings, and the number of primary shoots per mini-cutting were evaluated. The use of brown laurel mini-cuttings, collected from seedlings, in April 2021 and testing AIB and obtained from the basal, median and basal portions did not provide adventitious rhizogenesis, making it impossible to propagate the species
