Irrigation provides plants with the necessary amount of water for their development, complementing the lack of rain in the plantations. The most relevant factor in relation to irrigation is water loss, no system is 100% efficient, always presenting losses. However, when poorly designed and/or badly operated, the systems present large expenditures of water resources and result in high costs and low productivity. The present work aims at the correct sizing of the water pumping system for micro sprinkler irrigation systems, taking into account Resolution n. 284 of CONAMA (Conselho Nacional do Meio Ambiente National Council for the Environment), which guides the presentation of irrigation projects that feature more efficient irrigation equipment and methods. The EPANET software is used to carry out the dimensioning process, applied to case study to change the pump in an irrigation system. |
