Resumo: Engineering always has several obstacles to overcome, this obstacle being a new method to invent or improve an existing one, a new material to create, and all of this is carried out in increasingly creative ways, always taking into account costeffectiveness and feasibility of the projects. Thanks to its excellent mechanical properties such as ductility, mechanical strength and high hardness, 4340 steel is widely used. However, corrosion limits the use of this material in more severe and corrosive environments. Inconel 625, a nickel superalloy, is a good option for coating 4340 steel, as it has excellent corrosion resistance, good weldability and high tensile strength. Therefore, this work aimed to compare the effects of the welding process of coating Inconel 625 wire on a 4340 steel base metal, in addition to the annealing of this dissimilar weld. The results showed the influence of the annealing treatment on the increase of the suture area of the materials due to its greater thickness of the ZTA, in addition to the superior characteristics of Inconel 625 in an acidic medium.
