The study covers elements related to the sizing of the main components of a grid-connected photovoltaic system and the estimated return on investment time. The determination of the economic viability of installing the photovoltaic system in each one of the residences took into consideration the energy consumption of the residences, the monetary investment and the rate of return on investment. O trabalho descrito apresenta um estudo que visa avaliar a viabilidade técnica e econômica da instalação de painéis fotovoltaicos em residências pertencentes a um condomínio localizado no município de Laranjeiras do Sul, Paraná. O estudo realizado abrange elementos relacionados ao dimensionamento dos principais componentes de um sistema fotovoltaico conectado à rede e a estimativa do tempo de retorno de investimento.
