Resumo: Law deals with numerous problems, while Design presents several methodologies that seek to solve problems: the combination of these two areas resulted in Legal Design, to better solve legal problems, through visual communication. The concept of Legal Design was first introduced in 2013 by Professor Margaret Hagan at Stanford University, and since then its use around the world has been growing. As it is a very recent subject, it is still not taught in Brazilian universities: discussions on Legal Design usually take place outside the Academy, in courses, lectures and workshops, só there is no teaching methodology focused on Undergraduate Studies, nor a specific material: there are not even many publications in Portuguese about Legal Design, which shows how Brazil has not yet delved into this area, even though the study of Legal Design is extremely relevant to the academic environment, both for Design and for Law, for being an innovative tool, with many possibilities of practical applications in everyday cases. In this sense, the chosen research question was: how to teach Legal Design to students in Brazilian higher education? - a topic of great interest to the researcher, who is a lawyer, holds a degree in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR) and is graduating in Graphic Design from the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR) – with the aim of developing didactic material on the fundamentals of Legal Design for teach this content in Graduation. Therefore, an unsystematic literature review was carried out on Legal Design, Design Thinking, Human Centered Design, Collaborative Design, teaching materials, among other concepts to define and correlate them. After analyzing the theoretical research, a survey was carried out with professors, students, lawyers and professionals who work with Legal Design, to better assist and apply what was researched in the development of the didactic material.
