This paper aims to present a theoretical analysis of the Ethernet protocol within the industry detailing its technical features and functionalities being this protocol a trend within the IoT (Internet of Things) proposal. PROFIBUS and Fieldbus networks, for example, are constituted of proprietary systems and deterministic networks being dedicated technologies that make communication networks isolated within companies, without interconnection with the corporate environment. However, with the advancement of technology and its application within the industry, it is necessary to integrate industrial systems and IT (information technology) só that the processes can be more reliable and optimized where the Ethernet protocol allows such interconnection. The Ethernet system is commercially available for industrial application in Ethernet / IP, EtherCAT, PROFINET and others where we will present features of the PROFINET protocol of the German company Siemens in this work. |
