This paper aims to present the different types of electrical insulators available on the market for use in high voltage electrical systems and to characterize by the dielectric materials with which they are manufactured, particularities, advantages and disadvantages, such as the consequences caused by the performance failures during the activity and how they originate. Several methods will be raised for a complete theoretical analysis of electrical insulators in environments with different levels of pollution, factors that can increase or reduce the severity of this condition in transmission lines and substations, according to ABNT IEC TS 60815-1:2014 , with different approaches and input parameters. |
