Resumo: This work aims to propose a sensor system to monitor the load weight of transport vehicles. The proposal is based on preventing the driver from changing the cargo, or even making freight without the knowledge of the transport company (the owner of the vehicle). The proposed solution is not a single system, but a product that can help the tracking and telemetry system to monitor and obtain information from the cargo compartment. The proposed idea is based on estimating the height of the truck and the tension in the suspension to correlate with the weight of the load. In order to estimate the vehicle height, it is proposing the use of an ultrasonic sensor, while the tensions in the suspension it is proposing the use of a load cell directly coupled in strategic points. This idea of ultrasound weight estimation was already proposed in the article by Jai Ganesh (Truck Weighing Based on the Suspension of the Vehicle). And the weight estimate through load cell has also been presented by Scania. Due to availability limitations, it was not possible to test in a truck. The data presented here is only coming from tests done with an ultrasonic sensor.
