Among all the subjects, themes and motifs evoked by literary art, we decided to turn our attention to the humanization process itself, the abandonment of the immediate animal condition, which also implies, however absurd it may seem to us, the propensity to subvert this same process. Therefore, as an enabling element of association between these two antagonistic movements, eroticism became the theme of the present work. We sought in Georges Bataille, a French essayist and fictionist, the bases for understanding the subject. As the object for our investigation, we selected two excerpts from the novel Voice of fire, witten by British comic writer Alan Moore, which, according to our understanding, as well as casting dense shadows, illuminate the paradoxical entrance into the world of humanity. Partindo do pressuposto de que a literatura é, em alguma medida, análoga à vida, tendo o mesmo potencial de romper as barreiras da segurança, do controle e da previsibilidade, podemos dela nos valer para empreender um exame acerca de nossa humanidade, das grandes contradições a configurá-la. Dentre todos os assuntos, temáticas e motivos evocados pela arte literária, resolvemos voltar as nossas atenções ao próprio processo de humanização, de abandono da condição de imediatez animal, que subentende, também, por mais absurdo que nos possa parecer, a propensão a subverter esse mesmo processo. Portanto, como elemento possibilitador de associação entre esses dois movimentos antagônicos, ao erotismo coube o papel de temática central do presente trabalho. Fomos buscar em Georges Bataille, ensaísta e ficcionista francês, as bases para o entendimento do assunto.
