In recent centuries, the number of plastic waste has been increasing year by year. The present work was developed with the objective of providing alternatives for its reuse and recycling, thus making it possible to revalue plastic waste. Motivated to develop a plastic shredder, materials that would previously be discarded can be transformed, adding more value to the product chain for 3D printers. A wide variety of plastics are used to manufacture 3D printing filaments, including ABS, PET, PVC and PLA. In the plastic milling stage, plastic is transformed into small polymeric units, called pellets, which can then be used in the manufacture of filaments for 3D printers. This size reduction is necessary because the plastic particles need to be the correct size for further processing in extruders. Therefore, a grinding or shredder machine was developed in this project to allow obtaining pellets of different types of plastics with 4.2 mm in length. |
