The process of joining metals by welding is widely used and effective. In some cases, the use of preheating is recommended to carry out this process. In this study, comparative analysis of the results of MAG welding on SAE 1045 steel will be done, comparing the weld with preheating and without preheating. For this, the specimen will be prepared and submitted to tensile testing andmetallography. The specimen was machined for an analysis in the weld region. In the visual analysis, excessive porosity was observed in the weld without preheating. With the tensile test, a higher tensile strength was perceived for the weld with preheating. In the microscopic examination, a small structural change was observed for the weld processes. |
