Resumo: Bevel gears are transmission elements used in mechanical engineering that encompass several parameters for their flexural and contact design, in addition to obtaining respective safety factors to avoid possible wear or fractures. Therefore, in the present work, the development of a spur bevel gear is approached, through the application of the design methodology using the ANSI/AGMA 2003-C10 standard that uses the English system of units. Although this element is quite common in the industry, little information is available for tests and equation calculations in order to analyze the results for the most different types of applications in the set. The mapping to enable such content was based on recently published articles, as well as on consolidated literature in the field that concerns machine elements. The DSR methodological approach is also used to guide the development of this work. In this way, the purpose of this study is to provide the academic world with a material that will help in the design for analysis of a bevel gear through fatigue calculations and thereby mitigate potential failures. In order for the equation procedure to be clearly understood, a gearing proposal based on real parameters of everyday use is shown, which is the proof that the results of the standard are valid, and therefore, the analytical analysis of any bevel gear of straight teeth, can be based on the sharing of this study.
