Resumo: This work, the development of an electronic device applied to an urban traffic light system is reported, being able to present relevant information such as the remaining time of the signal and additional information on the number and direction of available parking spaces on the roads. With the objective of carrying out traffic control and sharing useful information to drivers and pedestrians. To this end, studies were carried out on the subject of intelligent traffic management, new strategies under development and improvement in recent years of research and on the consequences of traffic on urban roads, in order to propose the principle and operating parameters of the device, based on on system efficiency. Through studies, it was noted that the traditional traffic light system has its limitations such as excessive spending on lamps, problems with electrical failures, in addition to the fact that congestion increases the emission of polluting gases and harms the health of drivers and pedestrians. Coming to the conclusion that there is a possibility for a controller of RGB LED panels to offer useful and clear information received by a device via UART communication. In this way, a microcontrolled system for managing LED panels was developed that, in order to replace the traditional traffic light focus groups. With this, it is believed to be possible to obtain a lower rate of congestion where the device will act.
