Resumo: The industrial processes, especially in the automotive industry, factories are constantly changing. Be it changes in layout, machines, new technologies, and methods for delivering a certain finished product. When new equipment is purchased, one of the key points is to know what the payback will be, in other words, how long that asset will meet the production line and how soon it will start to generate profit. The specification must take into account the modification capacity to meet future changes. At a certain moment, it is time to buy a new piece of equipment or to reform the existing one, either because it breaks and there are no spare parts, or because it does not meet the manufacturing requirements, or even because it is not possible to improve it due to the disparity between the technology employed in the machine and the current one. We call this term retrofit. The retrofit can be partial, keeping the periphery (valves, electrical cables, power supply, relays and others) or total, where all devices are updated. The present work concerns the partial retrofit of a helium tightness test machine.
