In the production of some types of carton packs, such as Skin packs, thermoforming is used as the main manufacturing process. Evidence of nonconformities in a real operation of a Skin cartoner led this study to analyze the heat transfer that occurs in the thermoforming process. To do this, by numerically simulating the heat transfer that occurs in the heating step, the temperature distribution along the project surface was analyzed. The results of the heat transfer simulation, conjugated between radiation and conduction, indicate that the machine heating system does not provide temperature homogeneity in the thermoplastic film characterized as the project surface. |
