Resumo: This work aims to validate the use of the Total Station for structural monitoring purposes, thus creating a new methodology for the structural analysis of tall buildings. For this, a theoretical study was carried out regarding the Brazilian standards that deal with reinforced concrete structures and the action of wind in buildings, such as ABNT NBR 6118:2014 and ABNT NBR 6123:1988, in addition to the search for bibliographies that deal with the use of the total station in several areas, as well as the search for different structural monitoring methodologies. Then, a dynamic monitoring was carried out, with the previously mentioned equipment, of the Residencial Cidade dos Lagos building, located in the city of Guarapuava-PR. Through dynamic analysis, a displacement ratio per time was found for each coordinate, and its resultant was subsequently calculated, thus obtaining a maximum lateral displacement of 4.15 millimeters, which is contained within the limit values allowed by the relevant standard, which is 41.6 millimeters. Finally, carrying out this work allowed validating the use of the Total Station for structural monitoring purposes, due to its high precision, high versatility and practicality.
