Resumo: The objective of this work is the integration of new types of copolymers using Dlimonene as a monomer together with styrene, considering the chemical and medicinal qualities derived from limonene, in addition to the use of polystyrene, found in plastic cups and styrofoam. The process used for the synthesis of the copolymer was tested and only the one with the highest yield (15% d-limonene by mass) was used. Obtaining a material with qualities similar to the polystyrene used in industry, with the characteristic odor, coming from D-limonene. Thermogravimetric analyzes were performed in an oxidizing atmosphere and in an inert atmosphere on samples of polymers and copolymers produced with and without the presence of nonfunctionalized carbon nanotubes, with styrene copolymers containing D-limonene being more susceptible to thermal degradation. A greater thermal stability was observed for the systems whose polymerization was supported by carbon nanotubes, thus presenting a greater applicability of the synthesized composites and copolymers.
