Resumo: The purpose of this undergraduate thesis is the development of a slitter machine for elastomeric polyurethane coil cutting. The equipment performs the function of sectioning a 500mm long coil into 10mm wide rolls that are used in the automotive aesthetics segment as a paint protection film in vehicle body details. There is no commercial equipment on the national market for fractioning coils of this product. In view of this, it is proposed to develop an equipment to meet this market sector. The device consists of a metal structure on wheels with a metal plate that supports the functional modules such as an expansive axle set for larger and smaller coils, cutting blade support, blade height adjustment system, among others. The Rozenfeld’s methodology is applied to product development, following the stages of informational project, conceptual and detailed design. The sizing of critical equipment components such as expandable shafts, cutting blade support and transmission elements are carried out.
