Resumo: In recent years, the demand for sustainable practices has gained strength, including in the civil construction sector, which is one of the main responsible for altering the natural landscape, in addition to generating a large volume of waste and high consumption of raw materials. Despite the negative impact in the environment, the sector is an important agent in the economy and in the development of society. In the search for sustainable construction alternatives, the Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) system appears, based on expanded polystyrene (EPS) forms, a material already used in civil construction. The present work is developed in the form of a case study and aims to explore, analyze and describe the ICF constructive system, presenting through a bibliographic survey the advantages of the industrialization of the civil construction sector, the use of EPS in constructions and the characteristics of insulated concrete forms (ICF). Through monitoring of the constructions, it is possible to detail and record the constructive stages of the system, which slightly differs from conventional constructions, facilitating its application in construction work.
