Resumo: Among the infinity of textile finishes, treatments that enable the elimination of bacteria, especially the formation of bad odors and degradation of textile substrates, currently stand out. There is a huge range of finishes for this purpose. In this work, compounds coordination with zinc nitrate and 2-methyl-imidazole were synthesized, in the mass ratio 1: 1, 1: 4, 1: 8, 1:10 and 2: 1 (mass: mass) in order to to verify the antimicrobial properties of functionalized textile substrates. The application was carried out by the exhaustion process on 100% polyester weft knits simultaneously with the dyeing process with dye of the dispersed type, with the purpose of finishing the secondary beneficiation process, optimizing the production. The results were evaluated by colorimetric technique and antimicrobial power of the functionalized tissue. As a result, there was no interference in the dyeing color, a basic principle for the finishing to occur in the dyeing process, in addition to bacterial elimination or inhibition after conjugation.
