Resumo: The following work aims to present a study about an embedded system, involving the use of the microcontroller board Arduino UNO, in the application of a linear actuator, with the control of a direct current motor. It also presents a general overview about the elaboration of a mechanical structure of a linear actuator with a set of transmission by pulleys, as well the development for the application of embedded systems and the electrical elements addressed, namely: direct current motors, electric current sensors and rotary encoders. For the implementation of the system, the pulse width modulation technique is used to change the terminal voltage of the direct current motor, causing the motor rotation to also change. The results were obtained through computational simulation and also experimentally, demonstrating that the control system was able to provide a good dynamic performance in controlling the position of the machine, being able to be used
