Resumo: Natural phenomena have been occurring in an increasingly recurrent and increasing manner across the planet, affecting approximately 250 million people per year, according to the Center for Research on the Epidemiology of Disaster (CRED, 2011). Brazil being one of the ten countries with the highest incidence according to the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR 2015). The recent occurrences of natural disasters in Brazil, expose the fragility of society and the need for improvement in actions, both in helping victims and in supporting the homeless. In view of this demand, this work proposes an emergency shelter model, of a modular character, so that the victims are sheltered with safety and comfort as soon as possible after natural disasters. For this, a container adequacy project was elaborated, with the process described in detail.
