Resumo: The objective of this work was to perform a cost analysis between asphalt pavements and interlocked pavements with precast concrete blocks designed for different levels of traffic. Based on previous studies regarding the flexible pavement design using the DNER method, interlocked pavements were designed using the method conceived by the Brazilian Portland Cement Association for different traffic values. The National Cost System table was used for the cost assessment of the structures. After the cost analysis, it was found that asphalt pavements had higher values compared to interlocked pavements. This difference revealed that the costs of interlocked pavements are approximately 30% of the costs of flexible pavements. This occurred due to the use of asphalt concrete in the surface layer, significantly increasing the values of the structures. It is concluded that interlocked pavements can be an alternative to asphalt pavement when the application of the latter becomes unfeasible, either for technical or economic reasons.
