Resumo: This work aims to develop the architectural project to reformulate the facilities of the Observatório Astronômico e Planetário do Colégio Estadual do Paraná (OACEP), used by the Clube de Astronomia do Colégio Estadual do Paraná (CACEP) - the Observatório Astronômico Prof. Dr. Leonel Moro located in the city of Campo Magro. The project seeks to add new teaching spaces and a planetarium to the observatory’s current facilities, which are located in a region that suffers from inadequate infrastructure for the required demand. In the first part of this work, astronomy is conceptualized, taking into account its history, study equipment, infrastructure, and its role as both a tool for informal education and an instrument to change society. In this part, the characteristics of astronomical and planetary observatories are also analyzed, analyzing their typologies, activities and sectors. The work then proceeds to a study of 3 planetariums, all having architectural relevance considering constructive, spatial and formal aspects. This is followed by a brief survey of the project’s implementation site and the current situation of the OACEP’s facilities, focusing on the Observatório Astronómico Prof. Dr. Leonel Moro. Finally, project guidelines are established taking into account the local zoning, vegetation and environmental aspects, to provide a program of needs that matches the expansion of activities at the site.
