Resumo: The objective of this research was, after a case study, the proposal of a system to map out the competence of professionals working in academic departments of college courses of Technology Institutions (ITES). Those institutions have the benefit of knowledge and abilities of their professionals, which are not always well explored without maps or database. Firstly, in the theory studies a largely used system was found (electronic tool - web) - Plataforma Lattes, where one can find an expressive number of cadastral data related to college course institutions, and it was used as a referential support for this study. The chosen techniques for data collection were semi-structured interview, questionnaires, as well as documental analyses. Secondly, an investigation was made within the Electronics Department (DAELN) at the Federal University of Technology - Paraná (UTFPR), where it was noticed that there were not any kinds of systems, just a file containing its professionals’ cadastral register, and the data were incomplete and old. After an accurate observation of the results, an electronic tool was developed and validated. More information was included for heads of departments and managers of UTFPR who confirmed the need of generating the system which is the objective of this research. A flow chart was elaborated to show the steps to be followed in order to create this system to map up the competence of the professionals. Finally, the result of the study presents a system to collect technological competence in ITES
