Field research was carried out through a pedagogical intervention carried out in two classes of 3rd grade High School students, in a school located in Pato Branco - PR peripheral urban area, in regular Mathematics classes during the first semester of 2018 academic year, with the teacher of the discipline assuming the role of researcher. For the data collection, an individual semi-structured questionnaire was used as the basis for the preparation of pedagogical practices, a focus group conducted before and after classes and a field diary that complemented the conclusion of the results. For the reading of the collected data the Content Analysis technique was used. The results of the research demonstrated that a significant number of students presented, after performing the pedagogical practices, understanding that Mathematics helps to understand the financial world and contributes to the construction of criticality in relation to the consumer society and its moving tricks the market and environmental sustainability, is the target of benefits in the face of such changes thought and maybe their behavior. Critical Mathematics Education, a teaching philosophy that underpinned pedagogical practices, was of fundamental importance in order to develop them in a democratic, critical and emancipatory way. O objetivo desta dissertação foi analisar possíveis mudanças na concepção de consumo voltadas à sustentabilidade ambiental, apresentadas por alunos do Ensino Médio ao participarem de práticas pedagógicas em Matemática Financeira, dirigidas à educação financeira e ambiental. A pesquisa de campo ocorreu por meio de intervenção pedagógica realizada em duas turmas de 3º ano do Ensino Médio, em um colégio localizado na zona urbana periférica de Pato Branco – PR, em aulas regulares de Matemática durante o primeiro semestre do ano letivo de 2018, com a professora da disciplina assumindo o papel de pesquisadora. Para a coleta de dados, empregou-se questionário semiestruturado individual utilizado como base para a preparação das práticas pedagógicas, grupo focal realizado antes e após as aulas e diário de campo que complementou a conclusão dos resultados. Para a leitura dos dados coletados utilizou-se a técnica de Análise de Conteúdo. Os resultados da pesquisa demonstraram que uma quantidade significativa de estudantes apresentou, após a realização das práticas pedagógicas, a compreensão de que a Matemática ajuda a entender o mundo financeiro e contribui para a construção da criticidade em relação à sociedade de consumo e suas artimanhas que movem o mercado, sendo a sustentabilidade ambiental alvo de benefícios diante de tais mudanças de pensamento e quiçá, comportamento.
