Brazilian agribusiness is a profitable market segment and contributes significantly to the current moment of the Brazilian economy. Producers have been producing production records for each harvest, without investing in the same proportion in the post-harvest period. Given this scenario, the implementation of the occupational health and safety (OSH) regulatory standards are fundamental, as it ensures a safe and healthy environment for workers. Together with these actions it is important to invest in improvements in grain processing and storage unit (UBAG) to minimize costs and ally OSH. Thus, the present research was carried out in a large agroindustrial Cooperative, where the main objective of the case study was to develop actions to improve the conditions and work environment at UBAG, focused on SST, obtaining an innovative concept of UBAG. The risk factors that affect the physical integrity of the worker are present in several points of the post-harvest process of cereals and to reach the objectives proposed in this project, was used the methodology of analysis and solution of problems (MASP), research technique bibliographical, documentary and team observation. Finally, a comparison between current UBAG projects and the developed model. The comparative study indicated a significant and positive change in the work environment in the new concept of UBAG, such as: greater safety in the execution of operational and maintenance activities, decrease of safety nonconformities and, consequently, a greater concern of employees in the change of habits and customs related to safety in the activities performed. In addition, the average level below the UBAG soil surface went from 12 meters to 2.6 meters, with no loss of production capacity and optimized the built area, the number of tunnels reduced from 6 to 2, while the number of wells reduced from 7 to 3, improving the access of these tunnels, among other improvements. The results obtained in the preventive improvements carried out, met the normative requirements in force and reduced the exposure of the employees in the highest risk activities identified in the study, with structures and safety devices to enable adequate working means the control measures to the risk and consequently improving the operational safety of UBAG. |
