With the emergence of information and communication technologies, a transition took place in the form of diffusion of academic production that went from the specific use of paper support to digital use. The development of these technologies, along with the high cost of scientific journals, has created a rupture in the traditional publishing model that culminated in the open access movement whose main idea was to make the distribution of peer-reviewed literature free, unrestricted and without barriers. However, despite the relevance of this tool, it is perceived that within UTFPR some of the students and teachers are unaware of the repository or do not understand their real functions. Therefore, the objective of this research was to perform a diagnosis of the political, legal and technical aspects of the Institutional Repository of UTFPR - RIUT - based on international criteria and guidelines. To fulfill this scope, a bibliographic survey was carried out to discover which initiatives had international criteria and guidelines that could evaluate a repository. The selection was based on the recognition of the initiative that was more current, comprehensive and that had guidelines to evaluate the political, legal and technical aspects of an institutional repository. In this way, the Guide for the Evaluation of Scientific Institutional Repositories - Guia Recolecta was selected. This document is considered as an internal audit tool to improve the quality, scope and visibility of such information systems. Thus, using a material that establishes good practices for the creation and / or maintenance of an institutional repository, it was possible to identify that of the 51 existing criteria in the Collect Guide, RIUT contemplates 40. This shows that the repository follows almost 80% of the international guidelines and that the 11 items not contemplated are of a technical nature and can be analyzed in the future by the managers of the tool, in order to define practical actions that can contribute to the improvement of the system. |
