In the course of the text, the basic concepts necessary for the understanding of Financial Mathematics, such as Arithmetic and Geometric Progressions, Simple and Compound Interest, Operations with Interest Rates, Uniform Series, Amortization System, as well as Economics and Economics Domestic. The present work also presents a workshop carried out with students from Elementary and Middle School, in which it was possible to verify the students’ discrepancy regarding mathematical concepts and ignorance of certain subjects of the domestic economy. However, it was verified that with content mastery and due contextualization on the part of the teacher, the students had an effective appropriation of the content and understood the importance of a good planning of the family expenses. O presente trabalho visa subsidiar alunos do Ensino Fundamental e Médio com conceitos da Matemática Financeira que levem a um entendimento dos mecanismos envolvidos nas mais variadas transações financeiras e também, contribuir com a formação de professores desses ciclos. No decorrer do texto aprofundou-se os conceitos básicos necessários para a compreensão da Matemática Financeira, como Progressões Aritmética e Geométrica, Juros Simples e Compostos, Operações com taxas de Juros, Séries Uniformes, Sistema de Amortização, além de assuntos referentes a Economia e Economia Doméstica. O presente trabalho apresenta também, uma oficina realizada com alunos do Ensino Fundamental e Médio, no qual foi possível verificar a defasagem dos discentes quanto aos conceitos matemáticos e desconhecimento de certos assuntos da economia doméstica.
